TMZ reports that 71-year-old Morgan Freeman was involved in a serious car accident in Mississippi late last night around 11:30. The one car accident happened near Ruleville, Miss.

Morgan was airlifted from the scene of the accident to a hospital in Memphis, TN. TMZ claims booze was not a factor in the accident.

UPDATE: A spokesperson for Regional Medical Center in Memphis toldTMZ that Morgan is in serious condition. There was an unidentified woman in the car with him. Her condition is not known. State troopers said Morgan was talking when they arrived at the scene last night. They also said his car went off the shoulder of the road and flipped over.
